WEST POINT, Ga. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team began the 2021-22 season on Saturday, Oct. 23 with an afternoon road game against Point University. Saturday's meeting between the Rams and SkyHawks was the fourth meeting in their history, with Mobile never losing to Point entering the game. On Saturday, Point managed their first win over Mobile, winning the game, 76-72. The Rams made it interesting late, but time ran out and Mobile suffered a tough loss to begin the season. 
Senior Maurice Anderson started his season off strong offensively, finishing with a team-high 22 points and 7 for 11 on the floor. Anderson made three three-pointers in the loss and was perfect from the free-throw line.
Both Logan Foutz and Mobile newcomer Joshua Williams tallied 15 points in the loss to Point, with both making six shots from the floor. Williams recorded five rebounds on Saturday and Tadeas Manas led Mobile with six rebounds on the afternoon. Manas scored five points in the defeat.
As a team, the Rams shot 52% overall in the game and 32% from beyond the arch for three. Mobile was 75% from the free-throw line. 
Mobile will look to bounce back from their season opening loss when the host Tennessee Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Oct. 27 for the Rams' first home game of the season. Wednesday's game against the Bulldogs of TWU is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT.
