Rams Drop Fourth-Straight Thursday Night with Loss to No. 5 Talladega

Mobile Stays Close to Top-Ranked Tornadoes; Fall by Four Thursday Night

MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team was in for a tough matchup on Thursday night, Dec. 2 in Pharr Gymnasium when the Rams played host to No. 5 Talladega College. Talladega is new to the SSAC Conference this season, marking Thursday's game as the first conference game between Mobile and the Tornadoes. Despite the Rams keeping the game close, Talladega managed to defeat Mobile 61-57 to hand the Rams their fourth-straight loss. Mobile's overall record now sits at 4-7 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.

In the defeat, Mobile shot 41% from the floor. Gary Jefferson led all scorers on Thursday, recording 23 points while mixing in nine rebounds, giving him one rebound shy of a double-double. Meanwhile, true freshman Demariee Jones did manage to record a double-double in the loss, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Six of Jones' 10 rebounds were offensive boards.

The Rams will look to snap their current four-game losing streak on Saturday, Dec. 4 with a non-conference road game against Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Miss. Saturday's game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT. The Rams currently lead the series against the Bulldogs of Tougaloo with 45 wins and just 15 losses. However, Mobile fell in their latest game played against the Bulldogs back in 2015.
