Southeastern Hands Mobile First Loss of 2021 Season

Fire Roll Over the Rams in Saturday Afternoon Match

MOBILE, Ala. - Mobile faced stiff competition on Saturday, Aug. 21 for just their second match of the 2021 season. The Rams hosted Southeastern University and fell to the Fire, 9-0. Southeastern entered Saturday's match ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Women's Soccer Top 25 Coaches' poll. Mobile opened the 2021 season with a double-overtime draw at home against LSU-Shreveport on Thursday.

The Rams trailed the Fire by just three at halftime. However, Southeastern poured it on in the second half with six more goals and proved why the program is ranked near the top in the NAIA.

In the loss, Mobile took nine total shots throughout the match, two on-goal and Southeastern managed to take a total of 20 shots with 12 being shots-on-goal. Mobile Head Coach Brian Person saw a total of 22 Rams hit the field in the loss as reserves got plenty of playing time in the loss.

The Rams will attempt to shake off the defeat to Southeastern on Saturday and battle crosstown rival Spring Hill College for their next scheduled match on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021. The match will be played at Spring Hill College and is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CT.
