COCHRAN, Ga. - Riding a six-game win streak, with three wins coming against No. 20 Freed-Hardeman University, the University of Mobile Baseball team traveled to Cochran, Ga. for a three-game conference series against Middle Georgia State this past weekend and fell in all three games played.
In the series-opening doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 22, the Rams dropped both games to the Knights and later fell in the series finale the following day. The Rams lost 3-1 to begin the series, 15-5 in game two in the nightcap of the doubleheader, and 7-3 in the series finale on Apr. 23.
Across the weekend series, both Tucker Musgrove and Christian Waltman stayed hot at the plate as Musgrove finished with a 5-for-11 line at the dish across the series and Waltman finishing 5-for-12, while recording his ninth home run of the season. Waltman's homer this past weekend is his eighth since Mar. 28.
Mobile's overall record falls to 23-17 following the conference sweep to Middle Georgia State, with just three regular season games remaining on the 2022 season.
Mobile will host Blue Mountain College at Jacobs Field for three games on Thursday and Friday, Apr. 28-29 to wrap up the 2022 regular season and the home portion of the 2022 schedule. Thursday will see a doubleheader between the Rams and Toppers scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. CT. On Friday, the series finale is set for 1:00 p.m. CT.
