MOBILE, Ala. - After postponing the 2022 season opener at home on Thursday against Spring Hill College, the 2022 University of Mobile Women's Soccer team rescheduled the season opening match for Friday afternoon at Spring Hill College. On Friday afternoon, Spring Hill managed to come away with a 1-0 victory over Mobile, dropping the Rams' to 0-1 to begin the season.
The lone goal came early in the match as Spring Hill managed to score in just the second minute. Following the early goal, but teams remained scoreless for the remaining 88 minutes, giving the Badgers just their fifth win over Mobile in 38 meetings. Entering Friday, Mobile had a 31-4-2 record against their crosstown rivals and have not lost to Spring Hill in a regular season match since the 2007 season.
Spring Hill out-shot the Rams 16-6 on Friday, as Mobile tallied just one shot-on-goal. True freshman Reagan Latiolais was responsible for Mobile's lone shot-on-goal as Madison Hager led all Rams with two shots taken.Â

Despite the loss on Friday, 16th-year head coach Brian Person is excited about this year's UM Women's Soccer team and the potential they bring for this season and beyond. He believes the future is bright for the Rams as Mobile will look to bounce back next Friday with a match against Thomas University (Ga.) on Friday, Aug. 26. Next week's match will be played at home and is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT.
