2024 SSAC Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team Announced; Two Rams Earn Selections

Burgess, Atkins Named to 2024 Barnes & Noble College Scholar-Athlete Team

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2024 Barnes & Noble College Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team on Dec. 18, with two Rams from the University of Mobile Women's Cross Country program being named to the seven-member squad.

Senior Kayley Burgess earned a selection for the second consecutive season, while sophomore Claire Atkins was named to the team in her first year of eligibility. Additionally, Atkins led all selections with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the classroom during the 2024 season.

Additional Notes
  • To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions.
  • Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one year at the school.
  • Mobile's Claire Atkins leads with a 4.0 GPA, while Blue Mountain Christian's Aubrey Britt and Katie Meeks boast 3.95 and 3.90 marks.
  • Dominguez, Emma Vizina, Kayley Burgess, Harley Garner and Britt earned All-Conference honors. Dominguez and Vizina qualified for the NAIA National Championship.
