AUSTILL PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team, ranked No. 19 in the NAIA, saw a five-game win streak come to an end on Thursday night, Feb. 15, falling the Life University (Ga.) 81-79 in Pharr Gymnasium. Mobile falls to 20-6 overall on the season following the defeat, while seeing the conference record drop to 13-5. The Rams continue to sit third in the current SSAC Men's Basketball standings.
The Basics
Mobile and Life split the regular season series this year, with Mobile defeating the Running Eagles in Marietta, Ga. back on Jan. 10.
Mobile opened Thursday's game with a 7-0 run, but saw that early lead evaporate as Life took a 13-12 advantage halfway through the first half. From there, the two teams stayed close with one another as Mobile managed a 43-41 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Mobile opened with a 6-2 run, with Trent Moye connecting one two made threes in the time span of 30 seconds. However, Life stormed back and stayed within four points pf Mobile over the next several minutes. Eventually, Life grabbed the lead with 10:55 left in the game and never looked back. Following a late missed free throw, Mobile had a chance to tie or even win the game as time expired, but saw Sage McKenna's missed three-pointer as the buzzer end the game and hand Life the two-point win.
Mobile finished Thursday shooting 47% from the field, while Life recorded a 49% shooting line. Ezra McKenna collected his 21st double-double of the year, scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. DaMariee Jones joined McKenna with 20 points, pacing Mobile with two blocks and two steals. Trent Moye ended his night with 18 points, making four three-pointers in the process.

Mobile is scheduled to return to action next Tuesday evening, Jan. 20 in Pharr Gymnasium, hosting Loyola University (La.) at 7:30 p.m. CT. With just two regular season games remaining this year, Mobile will look to sweep the Wolf Pack during the regular season.
