PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE, Ala. – The Rams were finally back at home, after a 4 game stretch out on the road, getting set to take on Loyola University of New Orleans. Coming into the contest, Mobile was on a 3 game win streak and they looked to exact revenge on a Loyola side that entered the day with a 20-2 on the year record on the season. The Rams would ultimately fall 44-88, moving them to an overall record of 9-17 this season with just two games left in the regular season.
The first quarter started out slowly as the Rams scored just 7 points. Cierra Highland opened the scoring for Mobile with lay-up followed up by a free throw bringing the score to 9-3. Emilee Duet knocked down a couple free throws around the 0:49 second mark, nearing the end of the first quarter. With just a few seconds left in the quarter, Jada Johnson got inside the paint for a 2-point lay-up. The score at the end of the first would be 19-7 in favor of the visitors.
The second quarter saw things begin with a steal from Emilee Duet resulting in 2 points by her in the paint. Jarniya Maddox would get her first points of the game with a lay-up of the glass which was followed by a good jumper by Lamaria Jones after coming out of a timeout. With 5:06 left in the quarter, Albanie Dixon entered the paint for a lay-up. A couple possessions later, Mariona Pontnou knocked down a 3-point shot at the top of the key off an assist from Jada Johnson. One more lay-up by Lamaria Jones and 2 free throws by Emilee Duet would wrap up the half for the Rams. They trailed at the break by a score of 47-23. The third quarter was aggressive from the start. Cierra Highland got called for a technical foul less than a minute into the half, but the Rams scored 2 points from Jada Johnson shortly after, as the Rams started to move the score towards their favor. Deja Pryor knocked down a 3-pointer and Emilee Duet immediately collected the ball, before getting fouled and making both free throws. Deja Pryor knocked down another 3-point shot but every time the Rams scored, Loyola had an answer at the other end of the court.
Mobile would start out the fourth quarter scoring with a 3-pointer by McKenna Sinon and a lay-up by Deja Pryor. Another 3-pointer was hit later on by Taylor Lee, but the end of the game began to approach quickly. The Rams were unable to sustain the scoring pace of the opposition and that would be reflected in the final score as Mobile was swept by the Wolf Pack in the regular season.
Deja Pryor had 9 points and went 2-6 on 3-pointers. Jarniya Maddox had 6 rebounds, 3 offensive and 3 defensive. Emilee Duet went 6-6 on free throws.
