Rams Split with Southeastern; Fall to Keiser in Central Florida Trip

Softball faces first true test of 2026 season

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Rams headed down to Lakeland, Florida for a 4 game skid against Southeastern University and Keiser University. The Rams went 1-3 during their time in central Florida, splitting the doubleheader with Southeastern on day one before falling in both games to Keiser on day two. The Rams spent much of the trip testing out different line-ups and pitching rotations with plenty of games still to be played in the 2026 season. The Rams are now 3-3 on the season and are looking to improve their record with a rigorous schedule coming up.

Game 1 - Mobile 2, Southeastern 1

This was a pitching battle from the beginning. For the Rams, Avery Harrell threw 5 innings, allowing just one run while recording 3 strikeouts. Katelynn Kempton came in to finish off the game, allowing no hits, no runs and a strikeout. In the top of the 7th inning, the score was 1-0 in favor of Southeastern, but Mobile would go on to score 2 runs to take the 2-1 lead. Seven different Rams recorded hits in the game, with a total of 10 hits for Mobile compared to just 4 for the Fire.

Kaitlynn Robertson recorded 2 hits and an RBI. Bethany Dean recorded 2 hits. Gracie Mitchell recorded 2 hits in the win.

Game 2- Mobile 0 vs Southeastern 5

The second game of the doubleheader did not go the Rams' way, taking an 0-5 loss to Southeastern. Miah Simmons came into pitch after the first inning allowing 2 runs with just 1 being an earned run while recording 5 strikeouts. Mileyshka A. Soto Trujillo was the lone hit for the Rams, preventing the no-hitter for the Fire.

From the circle, Miah Simmons recorded 5 strikeouts in five innings of work.

Game 3- Mobile 2 vs Keiser 3

Starting off day two, the opening game against the Seahawks was a close one as Mobile faced a Keiser side that sported a 10-1 record on the season. Avery Harrell pitched all 6 innings allowing 3 earned runs and recording a lone strikeout. Despite outhitting Keiser 9 to 4, the Rams could not string the hits together and turn them into runs. Lucy Spisto and Daryelin Rivas would be the only two runners to score in the loss.

Diana Arcay had 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Lucy Spisto had 2 hits. Kaitlynn Robertson had 2 hits. Daryelin Rivas and Gracie Mitchell each recorded 1 hit.

Game 4- Mobile 0 vs Keiser 3

Closing things out in Lakeland, Miah Simmons would get the start inside the circle, pitching a clean first 2 innings before allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits while recording 3 strikeouts. The Rams offense struggled to gain any momentum, combining for just 3 hits. Mobile's batters struck-out just 3 times during the game, showcasing their ability to put the ball in play.

Lucy Spisto, Lillie Lanham and Diana Arcay all recorded 1 hit. Miah Simmons had 5 strikeouts.
