THE JUNGLE | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Soccer team opened up their 2026 campaign with a great showing in front of their home fans as they cut through the defense of Louisiana Christian University on their way to a 4-0 season opener victory. From the opening kickoff to the final whistle, the Rams looked strong in all areas of the pitch, controlling possession and making the most of their opportunities. With the first win under their belt, the Rams will look to continue this performance into their next match and the rest of the season as a whole.
After a 2025 campaign that saw a final record of 11-6-1, the Rams were looking to make an impact in their season opener against the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University. Mobile would make the most of the opportunity as they would put 4 goals past the goalkeeper before closing out the game with a solid defensive showing. In the 5th minute of the game, newcomer Olivia Sanchez Manque would put her side ahead on her debut with fellow newcomer, Suninda Singhasanee providing the assist. It wouldn't be long before a more familiar face made an impact on the game as Andi Hughes would pop up with goals in the 37th and 45 minutes to make it a 3-0 game at the half. The pressure from Mobile's offense was apparent in the first half as they created 12 shots compared to just 5 for their opponents.
Heading out for the second half with a 3-0 lead, the home side looked comfortable on the pitch. Their cushion on the scoreboard would be further increased in the 50th minute as Maya Tait bagged her first of the year with Andi Hughes pitching in with an assist this time around. With a 4-0 lead in hand, Mobile lifted their foot off the gas and began to manage the game more as they would hold out for the final whistle and a final scoreline of 4-0 to start the year. Chelsea Moore and Kaitlyn Skrove provided the Rams' center back pairing in the opener with the two seniors shutting down several opportunities for the opposition.
