THE JUNGLE | MOBILE, Ala. - It was a tough weekend schedule for the Mobile Women's Soccer program as they played host to both William Carey University and Xavier University of Louisiana at The Jungle. Both visitors this weekend were amongst the best in the NAIA at the moment, with the Crusaders ranked #11 and the Gold Nuggets receiving votes alongside the Rams. The on field results would not reflect the NAIA's rankings however as Mobile would fall 0-2 to William Carey and 0-6 to Xavier (LA.), which moves their 2026 record to 5-3 overall and 1-3 in conference.
Game One Recap - Mobile (0) vs. William Carey (2)
It was a much closer match than most would have expected given how recent history has shown this matchup going. Mobile and William Carey would remain in a stalemate through the opening 26 minutes before the visitors found the opener.
The Rams were able to create several opportunities throughout the 90 minutes, but a strong defensive effort from the Crusaders stopped many of the attacks before they could get a shot off. Going into halftime, Mobile was down just 1-0 with plenty of positives to take away and improve on in the second.
The visitors would add to their lead in the 80th minute, leaving the Rams with little time left to comeback with an answer. Despite the loss, Mobile's goalkeeper, Kloe Ernst, had a great outing in between the sticks as she recorded 8 saves, keeping her team in the game on numerous occasions.
Game Two Recap - Mobile (0) vs. Xavier University of Louisiana (6)
Facing another team who finds themselves near the NAIA Top 25 Poll, the Rams returned to the field on Saturday afternoon to face the Gold Nuggets. Much of the opening was marred by a series of fouls by both teams that stopped much of the momentum. Xavier would score with their first shot of the game in the 20th minute and would add two more before the end of the first half.
In the second half things continued to go against the Rams as the visitors scored three more goals to make it a 6-0 lead. Despite the vast difference on the scoreline, Mobile managed 6 shots in the match compared to 10 for Xavier (LA.). Mobile's downfall in the match ultimately came down to clinical finishing on the part of the visiting team.

The Mobile Women's Soccer team will be back at home next week on Thursday evening at 5:00pm CT as they take on Thomas University.
