The University of Mobile and UM Athletic Director Sally Shouppe officially announced the hire of Kaylee Creekmore as the next head coach of the University of Mobile Competitive Cheer program ahead of the 2024 season.

Creekmore is a Saraland, Ala. native, returning to the University of Mobile after cheering collegiately for the Rams during the inaugural 2016-17 season. During the past two competitive cheer seasons, Creekmore volunteer assisted former head coach Kami Whiteis, helping lead Mobile to two NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship berths and a SSAC Championship during the most recent 2023 season. Additionally, Creekmore will oversee the University of Mobile Spirit Squad, a non-competitive cheerleading squad at UM.

"I am very blessed and excited," Creekmore said about her new role at the university. "I adored the University of Mobile and cheerleading has always been a big part of my life." As of summer of 2023, Creekmore will have received her bachelor's degree in child and social development with a minor in education. She has been involved with cheer since she was four years old, continuing all the way throughout her collegiate career where she eventually met her husband Shaun Creekmore. "My husband and I were members of the first competition team at UM and stayed connected with [Coach Kami Whiteis] to help where needed," Creekmore said.

Creekmore takes over a program that has seen five-straight NAIA National Championship berths and three conference championships in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). When asked about the upcoming 2024 season scheduled to begin during the winter months of this year, Creekmore expressed excitement. "This year, God opened a huge door for me," she said. "I can't wait to get this season started and be the best coach I can be to every athlete."

Kaylee and husband Shaun have been married for close to five years and currently reside in Saraland, Ala. The two have three dogs and a baby girl on the way.
