Korie Fontenot

Korie Fontenot will begin her first season as assistant softball coach in 2014-15 after a four-year playing career at UMobile. She graduated with a degree in elementary education.

She will also be working towards her master's in education while coaching.

Fontenot appeared in 164 games from 2010-13 for the Lady Rams, finishing with 91 hits, 77 runs, 25 doubles, 13 home runs and 63 RBI. She capped her career by hitting .293 with six homers, 11 doubles and 30 RBI in 2013. She was also a career .980 fielder in the outfield.

The Grand Bay, Ala., native also excelled off the field, twice being named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

She has also collected some coaching experience the past two seasons with the Mobile Thrillers and the South Alabama Elite.

In 2013, she coached the South Alabama Elite U16 team, before guiding the Mobile Thrillers Elite U16 this summer. The team finished the year 23-4, winning the Hall of Fame Tournament and placing in the Top-25 at ASAA Nationals.

Fontenot also worked with the Thrillers U12 club this year.

She will assist in all facets of the program's operations, ranging from hitting, recruiting, work with outfielders and day-to-day operations.
