Coach Garrison Williams enters his first season as Throws Coach for the University of Mobile Track & Field program during the 2024-25 season. He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Nutrition Education and Fitness and Human Performance.

Track Certifications:
USATF LEVEL 1 Track and Field Coach Certification
USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy Certified Throwing Event Specialist

After graduation, Williams transitioned into his coaching career at Straughn High School in Covington County as head track coach, assistant football coach, and strength and conditioning coach. The Covid-19 pandemic cut the season short prior to State Finals in 2019.

In 2020, he returned to his Alma Mater, Foley High School in Baldwin County, Ala. where he became head throws coach and assistant football / strength coach. In 2024, he became the head track and field coach and flag football coach. During this time, his student-athletes have amassed five Alabama State Champions in field events; Seven County Championship wins; Three Sectional Championships and procured collegiate scholarships for eight student-athletes.

Williams has coached a 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals Athlete; placing 3rd in discus in the national event in Eugene, Ore.

“I am eager to contribute to the Track and Field Program at The University of Mobile,” Williams said. “It is an amazing feeling watching student-athletes improve their craft and
begin to grow in strength and personal best.”
