University of Mobile

Cooper Oman joined the University of Mobile as Director of Sports Information and Media Relations in March of 2025, with duties including overseeing all media broadcasts, communications and social media, game day operations, website and statistical management and more for 21 competitive sports in the University of Mobile Athletic Department.

Prior to Position at University of Mobile

Oman attended the University of Mobile where he served as a student worker for the Athletics Communication staff. In that capacity, he focused on making improvements to the UMSN live broadcasts while also serving as play-by-play broadcaster and statistician for UM soccer. After receiving his bachelor of science degree in sport administration with a minor in business from the University of Mobile in 2024, Oman helped out in an unofficial role with the Rams' communication staff during the 24-25 season assisting with many of the same game day operations. Oman eventually returned to the University of Mobile in an official capacity on March 1st of 2025 as the new Director of Sports Information & Media Relations.

About Him

The 23-year-old was born in Panama City, Florida, and grew up in nearby Lynn Haven, Florida. He graduated high school in 2020 having spent 3 years playing soccer for Bay High School in Panama City, Florida. At UM he also served on the Student Life Intramural staff team, helping to plan, set up, and officiate intramural sports for two years. Cooper is a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church where he serves as a leader with the college group. On Wednesday nights, he leads a small group with college students.

During his free time, Oman enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys video games, movies, and playing sports. Oman is an avid soccer and Formula 1 fan, supporting Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer and Manchester City F.C. in the Premier League while rooting for McLaren in F1. 

Cooper is married to his wife Rose Oman, a University of Mobile Alumna and current Payroll Accountant at the University of Mobile. The two reside in Saraland, Ala.
