Michael Lee begins his second season as the University of Mobile Head Competitive Cheer Coach in the spring of 2025. Lee is a highly motivated and experienced cheer coach with over 20 years of coaching experience at various competitive levels. He has led numerous middle and high school teams to regional and state championships, earning multiple top placements at national-level competitions.
Lee officially took over the UM Cheer program in January 2024 and brought the team to a strong 4th place finish at the 2024 SSAC Championship. Additionally, the team earned a bid under his leadership and competed at the prestigious NCA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Florida, finishing in the top seven and making history at the University of Mobile.
Lee is also the owner of Empire Athletics, a competitive cheer gym widely recognized throughout the Southeast for superior technique in elite-level skills and an unwavering commitment to safety and proper skill progression. The gym also is proud to hold multiple nationally ranked competitive all-star cheer teams.
