University of Mobile

Rachel Dunaway joined the University of Mobile staff as Sports Information Assistant in August of 2026.

Prior to Position at UM

Rachel graduated from the University of Mobile in May 2026 with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communication. During her time at UM, she competed in both indoor and beach volleyball, was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, and managed social media accounts for both the volleyball team and the university’s Turning Point Chapter. She currently serves as the Sports Information Assistant at the University of Mobile while pursuing a graduate certificate in Creative Practice. As a UM alumna and former student-athlete, Rachel is excited to continue serving the university and supporting its student-athletes. 

About Her

Rachel was born in Jacksonville, AL and grew up in Ohatchee, AL. She graduated from Ohatchee High School in 2022 as the valedictorian of her class. During her high school career, she competed in volleyball, basketball, and golf. 

Outside of her work at the University of Mobile, Rachel enjoys spending time with her friends and family, finding a good coffee shop, and reading–especially a good apologetics book. She enjoys working out and continues to play beach volleyball for fun. Rachel is also a lifelong Alabama fan so you can find her cheering on the Tide during football season.
