No. 5 Mobile Cruises to Win on Senior Day

Rams Score 10 Goals in Convincing Match Over Blue Mountain

MOBILE, Ala. - The fifth-ranked University of Mobile Men's Soccer team hosted Blue Mountain College on Saturday, Oct. 23 for the final home game of the regular season. Prior to the match, Mobile honored 14 graduating seniors leaving the program. Following the pregame senior day festivities, the Rams came out and dominated Blue Mountain College, winning 10-0 for their 12th-straight win.

With Mobile's 10-0 win on Saturday, that makes 19 goals scored in the last two matches played for the Rams. Mobile defeated Talladega College 10-0 on Thursday, Oct. 21.

Senior captain Alejo Binaghi has been on a tear offensively, recording a hat trick with three goals scored on Saturday. Binaghi scored four goals on Thursday against Talladega, giving him seven total goals scored on the week. His seven goals all but assures him yet another SSAC Offensive Player of the Week honor. Binaghi currently ranks second in the NAIA with 19 goals on the year. He has scored at least one goal in nine of Mobile's 14 matches played.

Joshua Bynoe also has been a force on the offensive side, scoring one goal on Saturday and his second hat trick of the season last Thursday against Talladega. Bynoe's numbers are good enough for an offensive player of the week honor, but will place second behind Binaghi's stellar week.

Maxime Benoit scored his first two goals of the season in Saturday's win while mixing in one assist. Mobile newcomers Rodrigo Paredes, Sebastian Jorgge, and Jose Sanabria all recorded one goal a piece against the Toppers on Saturday evening as well.

Fifth-year senior Cameron Cranton notched his first goal of the year in the 85th minute. For Cranton, that was his first goal scored since his freshman year in 2016 as it happened to come on Senior Day. It is just the second of his collegiate career in five seasons with Mobile.

Mobile's big win improves their overall record to 13-1 on the year and 6-0 in conference play. The Rams will look to remain perfect in the SSAC portion of the schedule and earn the No. 1 seed in the SSAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament with a win against William Carey University in the final regular season match of the year. Mobile will battle William Carey in Hattiesburg, Miss. on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
