Mobile Wins Crosstown Rival Game Over Spring Hill Behind D'Mya Ferguson's Career Night

D'Mya Ferguson's Double-Double Helps Lead Mobile to Victory Over Spring Hill on Tuesday

MOBILE, Ala. - After an impressive performance in an exhibition game against NCAA Division I's South Alabama on Nov. 9, the University of Mobile Women's Basketball returned to regular season action on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at home with a non-division game against Spring Hill College, crosstown rival of the University of Mobile. Spring Hill, a member of the NCAA Division II, entered Tuesday's game still winless on the 2021-22 season. Mobile entered Tuesday with a 3-1 record, coming off a loss in their last game played.

On Tuesday evening, the Rams came out strong and never trailed the Badgers in the game, eventually claiming victory over Spring Hill, 75-65. Mobile currently leads the series against the Badgers with 49 wins and 22 losses in their long history. Mobile's record moves to 4-1 on the season as Spring Hill drops to 0-3.

Mobile led for the entire game on Tuesday, shooting just under 50% from the floor in the win. Second-year freshman D'Mya Ferguson put together a career night in her 32 minutes of playing time, getting her first start on the year for the inactive Artasia McDowell. Ferguson led the Rams offensively with 23 points, a new career high, and recorded a career-high 11 rebounds in the win. Ferguson's double-double is the first of the season for Mobile as she also managed a career-high four steals, which led the team. Ferguson put together her best game since joining Mobile last season as she managed a trifecta in career-highs.

Sidney Sims and Breannah McCullah also recorded double-digit point totals in the win for Mobile as Sims finished with 11 points and led Mobile with seven assists and McCullah scored 10 points and managed two steals. As a team, the Rams scored 52 of their 75 points in the paint.
