Rams Go 0-2 During Thanksgiving Weekend Action

Mobile Drops Two Non-Conference Games in Weekend Action in Georgia

WALESKA, Ga. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team traveled to Waleska, Ga. on Friday, Nov. 27, one day after Thanksgiving, for a small weekend tournament against two non-conference opponents. On Friday, the Rams battled the Eagles of Reinhardt University in a evening matchup and fell to Reinhardt, 70-68. The following afternoon on Saturday, Nov. 28, Mobile faced Thomas University and dropped their third-straight game with a 65-41 loss to the Night Hawks. With the two losses over the weekend, Mobile's overall season record falls to 4-6 on the year.

MOB v. RU

In Friday's game against Reinhardt, the Rams took a 45-31 lead over the Eagles to halftime. However, Reinhardt's defense made strong adjustments during the break and allowed just 23 Mobile points in the second half while the Eagles' offense put up 39 points, giving them the two-point victory in the end. Mobile shot well from the floor, shooting just under 50%. Reinhardt managed to win the rebound battle, 37-26.

Senior Maurice Anderson returned to the court and the Mobile starting lineup for head coach Darnell Archey on Friday, playing a total of 31 minutes and recording a team-high 18 points in the loss. Anderson also managed two rebounds and two steals in his return from an injury earlier in the season.

Sage McKenna and Joshua Williams both recorded 14 points each in the loss, with both players making three three-pointers in the game. No other Ram scored over seven points in the loss to Reinhardt on Friday.

MOB v. TU

In Saturday's game against Thomas University, Mobile struggled to get anything going offensively in the ballgame, scoring just 18 points in the first half and 23 points in the second half. Meanwhile, the Night Hawks managed to score 30 points in the first half and 35 more in the second half.

Mobile shot just 23.7% in the defeat, the lowest shooting percentage for the Rams on the season. Mobile's previous low in shooting percentage sat at 43% on Nov. 13 against Louisiana Christian. Joshua Williams led Mobile with 14 points while Gary Jefferson recorded 10 in the loss, second-most on the team. Jefferson led the Rams with six rebounds. The Rams were out-rebounded 38-27 and allowed 36 of Thomas' 65 points in the paint.

Mobile will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 2 at home in Pharr Gymnasium for an evening game against Talladega College. The game on Thursday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT and will be the second conference game Mobile has played on the year as the Rams look to snap their current three-game losing streak and earn their first conference victory on the season.
