Rams Struggle to Keep Up With Stillman on the Road Thursday Night

Mobile Falls to Stillman College in Tuscaloosa Thursday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for a Thursday night conference game on Jan. 27 against Stillman College and fell to the Tigers, 87-70. The loss marks the third-straight game Mobile has been defeated leading to an 8-14 current overall record and 3-8 conference record in the SSAC.

At the half, Mobile trailed Stillman by just six points, but allowed the Tigers a 50-spot in the second half. The Rams finished with a 44% shooting percentage and a 84% free-throw percentage while making just three three-point shots. The Tigers out-rebounded Mobile 33-29 and won the turnover battle 8-11. 

Individually, Mobile was led by Logan Foutz and Sage McKenna who both scored 15 points from off the bench. Foutz played 19 minutes while shooting 6-11 from the floor and mixed in two steals while McKenna played just 16 minutes and managed a perfect field goal and free-throw percentage. McKenna finished 5-5 from the floor with two three-pointers and was 3-3 from the free-throw line.

Gary Jefferson finished with 13 points in the loss and recorded three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block on Thursday. DaMariee Jones led the Rams with nine rebounds and finished with seven points. Six of Jones' nine rebounds were offensive boards. 


Mobile returns home to Pharr Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 29 for their next scheduled game of the year. The Rams will host Blue Mountain College at 2:00 p.m. CT in what will be the second of two meetings between the two teams.
