MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team saw their four-game win streak come to an end on Saturday, Feb. 19 when Mobile fell to the Eagles of Faulkner University, 76-64. Mobile ends the 2021-22 regular season with a 14-16 overall record and a 8-10 conference record, securing the No. 5 seed in the upcoming SSAC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.
Joshua Williams scored a game-high 19 points in the defeat to Faulkner on Saturday while leading the team with three steals and recording four assists. Both DaMariee Jones and Gary Jefferson finished with 11 points as Jones recorded his seventh double-double of the year. Jones led all players with 16 rebounds with seven being offensive boards. The Rams out-rebounded Faulkner, 34-32.
No matter the result of Saturday, Mobile was almost guaranteed the No. 5 seed in the 2022 SSAC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, presented by Newk's Eatery. The tournament is scheduled for Feb. 23-26 at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. and the Rams will face fourth-seeded Stillman College at 10:45 a.m. CT on Thursday, Feb. 24.
