MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The University of Mobile Softball team continued their dominance on the 2022 season, sweeping Brewton-Parker College in a doubleheader on the road in Mount Vernon, Ga. on Friday afternoon, Apr. 8 with two 8-0 shutout victories. The two shutout wins for the third-ranked Rams extends Mobile's win streak to 34 games, including seven-straight shutout wins. Mobile pitching has not allowed a run to cross the plate since Mar. 25 when Mobile defeated the Faulkner Eagles, 6-3. Since then, Mobile has claimed three sweeps, all over conference opponents, including against No. 7 William Carey on the road. The pitching staff for Mobile has lowered their team earned-run-average to a stellar 0.99 mark during that span.
Game One Recap - Mobile 8, Brewton-Parker 0
In game one on Friday, the Rams hit the scoreboard early in top of the first inning following an Eila Infante suicide squeeze bunt that scored Jaden Morace. The Rams later put up a three-spot in the third inning and followed that with two runs across both the sixth and seventh innings. In the sixth, Katie Head connected with her first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left field. Head later drove in two more runs in the top of the seventh to seal the win for the Rams, giving her four RBI in the victory. She finished 3-for-4 at the plate as Mobile collected 17 team hits.
In the pitcher's circle, Emily Butts pitched her 11th complete game, improving to 16-0 on the season. Butts lowered her ERA to 0.79 on the season following the shutout. She allowed just five hits and struck out another five. 
Game Two Recap - Mobile 8, Brewton-Parker 0
In game two later on Friday afternoon, the Rams were kept off the scoreboard for the first couple of innings before scoring the first run of the game in the third. Caitlin McRee singled in Jaden Morace to get the scoring started. Later, the Rams added a run in the fourth and sixth innings to go up 3-0 over the Barons before putting together a five-run top of the seventh to win the game. 
In the seventh, Kaylee Pullin got the scoring started with a two-run double to center field. McRee followed with a two-run single up the middle, and Ashlyn Stewart wrapped up the inning with an RBI single to right field. The Rams out-hit the Barons 15-2 in game two, giving Mobile a total of 32 team hits across 14 innings.
Caitlin McRee finished 2-for-4 at the dish with three RBI, while Kaylee Pullin finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs herself. Ashlyn Stewart was perfect at the plate, finishing 4-for-4 and driving in two Mobile runs. 
From the circle, Brinkley Goff once again cruised to the shutout win, earning her eighth complete game and 13th win of the season. Goff's ERA now sits at 0.88 as she struck out nine Barons on Friday, allowing just two hits.
The Rams are back in action tomorrow following the doubleheader sweep over Brewton-Parker on Friday and will play another conference doubleheader on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT in Macon, Ga. against Middle Georgia State.
Mobile, ranked No. 3 in the latest NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll with more first-place votes than any other team, looks to continue adding to their impeccable resume this season after a 34-0 start and 16-0 SSAC record. Mobile is currently the only undefeated team in the rankings.
