Mobile Falls to Truett McConnell Saturday Afternoon

Rams Drop Road Match Against Non-Conference Foe on Saturday

CLEVELAND, Ga. - The University of Mobile Women's Soccer team returned to NAIA competition on Saturday, Sept. 3 with a non-conference road match against the Truett McConnell Bears. After trailing by one goal at halftime, the Rams eventually fell to the Bears 3-1 following an insurance goal by Truett McConnell in the second half. Mobile's record drops to 1-2-1 on the young season after the defeat.

How It Happened
  • The Bears of Truett McConnell started the scoring with the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute.
  • Truett McConnell added on to their early lead with their second goal just one minute later.
  • Mobile's Olivia Quiroz cut the deficit in half and scored Mobile's lone goal in the 28th minute.
  • Quiroz's goal is her second goal of the season in her first year with Mobile.
  • The Bears later added an insurance goal in the 69th minute, leading them to victory over Mobile.

  • Truett McConnell out-shot Mobile 27-12 on Saturday, recording 12 shots-on-goal against the Mobile defense.
  • Mobile recorded four shots-on-goal out of their 12 shots taken in the loss.

Next Up: Labor Day Match

Mobile will return to action on Labor Day this Monday, Sept. 5 with another road match against a non-conference opponent in Georgia. The Rams will meet Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga. for a 11:00 a.m. CT kickoff. Mobile currently leads the series matchup with Brenau with a 9-2-1 overall record.
