Rams Cruise Past ABAC on Thursday Night

Mobile Secures 36-Point Win Over SSAC's Newest Team

TIFTON, Ga. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team got back into the win column on Thursday night, Jan. 9, cruising past Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Ga.) 98-62 in Tifton, Ga. The win improves Mobile's overall record to 10-4 on the year, while keeping the Rams above .500 in the SSAC at 4-2.

Dominant Team Performance for the Rams

Mobile displayed excellent team play throughout Thursday's contest, outscoring ABAC 48-27 in the first half, while maintaining dominance in the second half with a 50-35 performance. The overall shooting as a team was impressive, hitting 50.7% from the field, including 43.8% from three-point range. Defensive efforts were equally noteworthy, recording 11 steals and eight blocks, while holding the Stallions to just 37.7% shooting.

First-year Ram Colin Howells put together his best performance since joining Mobile, leading the offensive charge with 19 points, shooting a remarkable 85.7% from the field. Howells connected on four three-pointers, while also contributing defensively with two blocks and a steal.

Ezra McKenna recorded his 10th double-double of the season in 14 starts, ending Thursday with 13 points and 11 rebounds, including two three-pointers and a block. BJ Comer joined McKenna with 13 points, while the Mobile bench played a significant factor with 47 points. Mobile saw 11 of the 12 players to touch the court against ABAC finish with points.

Overall, the Rams capitalized on turnovers, scoring 20 points off Abraham Baldwin's 17 giveaways. Additionally, Mobile controlled the paint, scoring 52 points in the key and pulling down 43 rebounds to dominate the boards.

Rolling To Mount Vernon

Mobile will look to build off the big win over ABAC with another SSAC road game on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11 against Brewton-Parker College (Ga.). Saturday's game in Mount Vernon, Ga. is set for 1:00 p.m. CT.
