Women's Soccer Falls to William Carey in Hattiesburg

Rams fall 3-0 on the road in SSAC clash

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Mobile Women's Soccer team fell 3-0 to William Carey on Saturday afternoon with the Rams suffering their first loss in conference play to move to 4-1-1. For the Rams, the 3-0 loss to the Crusaders is the closest result between the two sides since a 2-0 loss in Hattiesburg back in 2019, marking all of the work that has been done to close the gap between these two sides since then.

Mobile and William Carey would open the match with a stalemate through the first 25 minutes with the Crusaders having much of the opportunities. The deadlock would be broken by the crusaders in the 26th minute before the lead was doubled in the 43rd. Mobile would manage just one shot in the first half through Natalie Burt who forced a save out of the Crusaders keeper. The second half stayed much the same with Carey adding on to their lead in the 69th minute while Charlotte Malamaire pulled a shot to the left of the opposition goal in the Rams lone opportunity of the second half.

Sarah Polk continued her run as the starting goalkeeper for Mobile, making 6 saves in the loss to prevent a much more one-sided scoreline.

Up Next for the Rams:

There is just under a week for Mobile to prepare for their next match as they return home for a meeting with Dalton State College at 5:00pm CT in The Jungle.
