MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Mobile volleyball team continued its strong season Friday night, sweeping Faulkner University in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-18) at Tine Davis Gymnasium. The win lifted the Rams to 14-2 overall and 7-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) play, while Faulkner fell to 7-10.
Mobile delivered one of its most efficient offensive performances of the year, hitting .440 as a team and totaling 47 kills. Sophie Dorris led the attack with 11 kills and three block assists, while Corrina Porch-Maxey added 10 kills on a .476 hitting percentage. Emma Hampton chipped in eight kills and two blocks.
Setter Emma McPherson, who was named SSAC Setter of the Week, guided the offense with 26 assists and a pair of digs, helping Mobile maintain offensive balance throughout the match. Hannah Ellis contributed 14 assists and three service aces, keeping Faulkner's defense off balance.
On the defensive side, Emily Osborne anchored the front line and was recognized as the SSAC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts. Osborne recorded three solo blocks and five block assists in the match, part of a dominant net defense that limited Faulkner to a .221 hitting percentage. Hope Blaylock added 13 digs in the back row, while Porch-Maxey tallied 11 points.
Mobile controlled the match from start to finish, hitting .536 in the opening set and never trailing in the second or third. The Rams' depth and defensive consistency continued to shine as they extended their win streak and reinforced their standing as one of the SSAC's top programs.

The Rams hit the road for a pair of SSAC matchups this weekend, visiting William Carey University on Friday, Oct. 10, before taking on Loyola University New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 11.
