Thanksgiving Classic Ends with Loss to Keiser

Rams fall to Seahawks 60-82 to close out Thanksgiving week games

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A day after defeating Florida Memorial University to pick up a third win of the season, Mobile would return to the court for a meeting with the Seahawks of Keiser University, the hosts of the Thanksgiving Classic tournament. The meeting with Keiser represented the second of six straight road games for the Rams as they prepare to start back SSAC play in December when they will face Faulkner, UT-Southern, and Blue Mountain Christian.

Mobile would fall behind early as Keiser would lead 10-4 at the 5:08 mark in the first quarter. The Rams would work their way back as they took a short lived 11-10 lead at the 3:23 mark. Keiser would pull away in the final 3 minutes as the opening ten minutes finished out with Keiser ahead 23-12. The struggles of the second and third quarters would continue to plague the Rams as the hosts would pull further ahead outscoring Mobile 34-21 in the two quarters. Heading into the final quarter, Mobile trailed by 22 points needing nothing short of a perfect performance on offense and defense to make up for the shortcomings of the previous 30 minutes. While the offense would shine in the fourth, putting up an impressive 25 points, the defensive efforts would see them give up 25 points to bring about a 60-82 loss as the Rams would fall to 3-8 on the season.

Taylor Lee stood out for the Rams offense, scoring 22 points to lead all Rams in the category. Lamaria Jones wasn't far behind her with 16 points as she totaled 42 points across both games in West Palm Beach. Three Rams tied for the lead in the rebound category as Taylor Lee, Lamaria Jones, and Hannah Benoit all grabbed five boards. Emilee Duet was finding her teammates well in the loss as she picked up 5 assists to lead her team in the category.

Up Next for the Rams

The University of Mobile's Women's Basketball team will be on the road for the foreseeable future before returning to the Pharr Gymnasium on December 30th for a meeting with Warner University. Ahead of that next home game, Mobile will face Talladega College on the road on December 1st at 5:30pm CT.
