Women's Basketball Drops Home Game Against Stillman

Mobile falls to 1-2 on the season

PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE, Ala. - For the second time during the 2025-2026 season, the University of Mobile Women's Basketball team faced off against Stillman College with this meeting taking place on Mobile's home court. The Rams won their season opener against Stillman in Tuscaloosa last Friday with a score of 67-53, but the Tigers would come to Mobile seeking to get one back. Stillman would control much of the game against Mobile and hand the Rams their second loss of the season with the home side falling 74-86 in the home opener.

Stillman had Mobile's number throughout the first two quarters as they outscored the home side 26-12 in the first and 17-11 in the second. The Rams' shooting percentages were overshadowed by Stillman's in the first half with the Rams field goal percentages coming in at 35.7% in the first and 15.0% in the second. Coming out of the halftime break Mobile showed improvements on offense, but struggled defensively as they scored 20 points but allowed Stillman to score 27 putting Stillman's comfortably ahead 70-43 going into the fourth.

Despite a 27 point deficit, the fourth quarter saw a completely different side hit the court for Mobile as they began to tear into Stillman's lead. In the first 5 minutes, Mobile had cut the gap down to 16 and were working hard towards making the comeback a reality. The comeback effort would come up short and too late as the Tigers managed to hold of Mobile for the remaining 5 minutes, keeping the difference in the two scores at 12 when the game clock expired. Mobile had a very strong fourth quarter that was highlighted by their 41.4% field goal shooting.

Emilee Duet led the offense for Mobile putting up 20 points and 3 assists with 4 steals while Jada Johnson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman forward Taylor Lee had 7 points and 6 rebounds while also collecting a steal, block, and an assist.

Up Next for the Rams

Women's basketball is back at home in the Pharr Gymnasium on Saturday, November 8th for a 4:30pm CT game against LSU-Alexandria.
