Men's Basketball Falls to Comeback Effort

Rams lose to Faulkner after late game comeback by Eagles

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Coming off the back of an 0-2 showing at the 11th Annual NAIA Classic "The Show", the Rams returned to SSAC play with a game against the Eagles of Faulkner University. With the team on the road for the remainder of 2025, they traveled up I-65 to face the Eagles in hostile territory. At the conclusion of the second half, the Rams would find themselves on the losing end of the result with Faulkner managing a late game comeback as Mobile fell 78-72.

Aahmod Scarbrough got things started for the Rams with a 3-pointer before Oliver Boyle added on with a jump shot for two. The lead of the game would trade hands a few more times before the first ten minutes were up as Zion Hunter put the Rams up 13-12 with 10:52 left in the half. From there on in the first half, things mostly went Faulkner's way as a 11-23 run would conclude the first half with the Rams trailing 24-35. Aahmod Scarbrough would lead the first half scoring for the Rams with 10 points while Dayton Richardson led the team in rebounds with three. The second half got off to a much better start for Mobile as they cut the lead down to 3 points in just under three minutes. In the remainder of the game, neither side would lead by more than 8 points. Aahmod Scarbrough put Mobile back in the lead with a 3-point effort at 9:03 before Kareem Harris made it a 2 point lead by going 1 for 2 at the free throw line. With 3:08 left to play, Mobile would take a 4 point lead courtesy of a Zion Hunter three. With things coming down to the wire, the Eagles would be the side to get their shots to fall when it counts as a 5-15 run for the hosts would give them the win over Mobile.

Aahmod Scarbrough, Kareem Harris, and Zion Hunter all reached double digit point totals while Scarbrough also led the team with 3 assists. Dayton Richardson led the team in rebounds as he grabbed 8 total. Kareem Harris put up a career high total in minutes as he played 21 against the Eagles. He also topped his single game point total with 14 points (previous high was 13 against Southeastern Baptist on 11/03/25).

Up Next for the Rams

The team hits the road again next week when they travel to Pulaski, Tennessee to face the Firehawks of UT-Southern. The game will be streamed live, for free, on Urban Edge Network at 7:30pm CT on Tuesday, December 16th.
