HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team fell 68-50 to William Carey (Miss.) on Thursday night, Feb. 20, seeing the overall record drop to 19-7 overall and 10-5 in the SSAC with one regular season game remaining. The loss is Mobile's third-straight, the most consecutive losses in a row during the 2024-25 season.
The Basics
Mobile managed just 13 points in a low-scoring first half, while William Carey went into halftime with a 29-13 lead. In the second half, both teams tallied 17 points each in the third quarter, while the Crusaders outscored the Rams 22-20 in the final 10 minutes to secure the 18-point win.
Braylee McMath led Mobile with a 22-point performance, while Alanna Donaldson tallied 13 points, four assists, and four rebounds. MacKenzie White recorded eight points from off the bench, while the remaining starting three combined for just five points. The team shot only 26% in the defeat, while being out-rebounded 50-40. William Carey's Kolten Blakeney put together a career peformance, scoring 31 points and securing 18 rebounds. She added four blocks and three assists.
William Carey remains undefeated on the season at 24-0, with two wins coming against Mobile this year.Â
Regular Season Finale Ahead
Mobile will look to end the regular season on a high note and snap the current three-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22. Mobile is set to host Faulkner University (Ala.) in Pharr Gymnasium on Saturday, scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. CT tip-off.
