SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of Mobile Women's Bowling team competed at the 2024-25 SSAC Women's Bowling Championship on Feb. 21-22, seeing the season come to an end in the fourth round of the tourney. Mobile began action on Friday with a pair of matchups, splitting the two and earning a pass in the third round. On day two, the Rams fell in round four to Milligan University (Tenn.), the runner-up in this year's field.
SCAD Savannah (Ga.) rolled to the 2025 SSAC Women's Bowling Championship, taking down Milligan 2-0 in the title game.
Match Scores
Mobile entered this year's field as the No. 4 seed, beginning postseason action action Stillman College (Ala.). The Rams defeated Stillman 2-0, winning the team game 783-539, with Sierra Knight bowling a 174. The Rams then took the baker games, 684-510. Later that day, eventual tournament champion SCAD-Savannah defeated Mobile, 2-0. The Bees won the team game 944-766 and took the baker games 829-609.
Saturday action saw Milligan knock off Mobile in the fourth round, using a comeback to do so. Mobile put the Buffaloes on upset alert early, leading 3-2, but came back to win the overall matchup, 4-3. Milligan saw wins in the final two games, including a 217-164 win in the last game.
Tournament Format
Winners' Bracket: Consists of mini mega matches: One traditional team game followed by four baker games total (two on first lane, two on opposite lane). If overall score is 1-1, a best of five baker match will be played.
Losers' Bracket: Best of seven baker match play. If there are BYES required for higher-seeded teams due to uneven number of teams for bracket play, practice lanes will be available as needed, but no practice after the last ball is thrown in the 10th for one team.
