University of Mobile Named NAIA Champions of Character Silver Five-Star Institution for 2024-2025

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the 2024–25 Champions of Character Five-Star Award winners, with 210 member institutions earning recognition. The University of Mobile earned Silver Five-Star status, continuing a strong tradition of character-driven excellence within its athletic programs.

"We are grateful to be recognized once again as a Champions of Character institution," said University of Mobile President Charles Smith. "This award reflects our continued commitment to developing student-athletes who pursue excellence with integrity, both in competition and in life. As part of our mission to serve For Christ & His Kingdom, we aim to cultivate character and leadership in all we do."

Honoring Values in Athletics

Institutions are measured on their demonstrated commitment to the Champions of Character initiative and earn points in five key categories: character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion.

Programs also earn points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by maintaining minimal to no ejections throughout the academic year.

The Rams have earned Champions of Character honors for the past twenty-three seasons and consistently demonstrate their commitment to the NAIA's core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

Rams Athletics

Rams athletics has a winning tradition since the program's founding in 1985. Over 400 student athletes in 21 competitive sports regularly earn top honors
on the playing field and in the classroom, including 430 NAIA All-Americans, 591 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-athletes and 101 NAIA Scholar-Teams.
