MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile volleyball team stayed perfect on the year, moving to 7–0 after a dominant weekend at the Mobile Volleyball Tournament on Aug. 29–30 at Pharr Gymnasium. The Rams swept all three opponents—Milligan, Pensacola Christian, and Dillard—in straight sets.
Game 1 – Mobile 3, Milligan 0 (25–11, 25–11, 25–14)
Mobile opened the tournament Friday evening with a decisive sweep over Milligan. The Rams controlled both sides of the net, hitting .313 as a team with 38 kills while holding Milligan to a negative attack percentage. Emily Osborne and Sophie Dorris led the way offensively, while Jaci Drinnon anchored the back row with 16 digs.
Game 2 – Mobile 3, Pensacola Christian 0 (25–22, 25–14, 25–17)
On Saturday afternoon, Mobile took down Pensacola Christian in three sets to keep momentum rolling. The Rams tallied 40 kills with a .294 hitting percentage, pulling away late in each set. Corrina Porch-Maxey paced the attack with 11 kills, while setter Emma McPherson distributed 18 assists. The defense stayed sharp with 6 blocks and 40 digs, led again by Drinnon.
Game 3 – Mobile 3, Dillard 0 (25–21, 25–18, 25–13)
Mobile closed the tournament in dominant fashion Saturday evening, cruising past Dillard. The Rams fired off 44 kills on a .248 attack percentage, while the defense held Dillard under 20 points in the second and third sets. On offense, Jennifer Cope had 7 kills on a .417 hitting percentage, and the team combined for 5 total blocks.
Up Next for the Rams
Mobile will travel to Georgia next weekend where they will face Brewton-Parker on Spetember 5th before facing Life University on September 6th.
