PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile volleyball team picked up a big conference win on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Crusaders of William Carey University in the SSAC Volleyball Game of the Week. The Rams came away with a 3-0 victory (25-22, 26-24, 25-13) in front of their home crowd at Pharr Gymnasium. The University of Mobile Student Life department helped drive student involvement with the match, hosting the "Rock the Pharr" theme for the afternoon match.
The Rams and the Crusaders battled back and forth throughout the first two sets with the Rams often holding just a 2 point lead over their rivals. Despite the closeness of the first two sets, Mobile would pull away in set three, winning with a 12 point gap between the two sides.
Mobile finished with 39 kills as a team while hitting .188. Sophie Dorris led the Rams offensively with 10 kills on 18 attacks, hitting an impressive .500 while also adding two block assists. Peyton Frazer also tallied 10 kills on 26 swings, while Corrina Porch-Maxey and Emma Hampton chipped in six kills apiece. Emily Osborne controlled the net defensively with five block assists.
The Rams' setting duties were split between Emma McPherson, who recorded 17 assists and eight digs, and Hannah Ellis, who added 14 assists, nine digs, and two kills on two swings. Jaci Drinnon anchored the defense with a team-high 16 digs, while Hope Blaylock served up an ace and added six digs.

Mobile (11-1, 3-1 SSAC) will continue SSAC play on Tuesday, September 19, when they travel to Pulaski, Tennessee to face UT-Southern at 6:00 p.m. CT.
