While the Rams kicked off their season with this series, the Wildcats entered the series with a 2-0 record after defeating the #19 ranked Mid-America Christian in a doubleheader on January 22nd. When all was said and done, the Rams would close out their time in Pineville with a 1-3 record, with their lone victory coming in the series finale as they defeated the Wildcats 3-0 to prevent a sweep by the host team.

Adrian Salas would push across Mobile's first run of the season as a single through the right side would be enough to see Reed Wilson come home for the Rams. Mobile would score a single run in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings but it would not be enough to stop Mobile from falling 4-9 to the Wildcats in the season opener.

From that point on, things would go the way of Louisiana Christian as they scored all 11 of their runs in the first five innings with no answer to be had from Mobile. The loss was the largest of the series for the Rams and the will hope to avoid a similar outcome throughout the rest of the season, with a lot of games to be played between now and the end of April.
