PULASKI, Tenn. - On the road against a FireHawk side that had seen a stellar rise up the NAIA rankings to #3 in the country, the Rams were anything but the favored team. Entering the evening, Mobile had won just 2 of their SSAC games with an overall conference record of 2 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties. Despite the odds seemingly being stacked against them, the Rams would punish their opponents on route to a 3-0 win.
The Rams would control much of the first half as they would set the pace on the attacking front. They would outshoot their opponents 10-4 in the first half which would be reflected on the scoreline as Eugenio Cazares found the back of the net for his 7th goal of the year with the assist coming from Manuel Cordeviola. Mobile would hold their 1-0 lead for the rest of the half as the FireHawks keeper would make 3 saves to stop any further damage before the break.
The tables would turn in the second half as UT Southern would set the offensive pace behind a staggering 19 shots compared to just 2 for the Rams. Despite the attacking output, Mobile's defense would weather the storm as Tanner Boxberger came up big with 5 saves to keep a clean sheet. His efforts in the match would earn him both the SSAC and NAIA Defensive Player of the Week awards.
On the other end of the pitch, the Rams would win a penalty in the 72nd minute with Noah Miller stepping up and converting from the spot to make it 2-0. The result would be set in stone for the Rams in the 87th minute as Manuel Cordeviola added a third goal making it 3-0 and securing a major win for the Rams.
