PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team was back at home over the weekend as they played two of their final three home games to round out the 2025-26 regular season. The Rams faced off against Loyola University of New Orleans on Thursday night in what was branded as "Secret Choir" night, while Saturday set up a meeting with rivals William Carey University. For Mobile, these games represented a chance to prove themselves against some of the best teams in the SSAC, with both the Wolf Pack and Crusaders fighting for top spots ahead on the conference tournament in Montgomery, Alabama.
Game One - Mobile 64, Loyola 83
The atmosphere in the Pharr Gymnasium would be unlike anything seen before, as prior to tip-off, over 70 students, faculty, and staff, all wearing choir robes, made their way into the stands before breaking into song. The University of Mobile was witnessing it's first ever secret choir game, a combination of efforts between the University of Mobile Student Life, ASOTA, and Athletics departments that saw a unique, new spin being put on the way that the community at Mobile supports the Rams on the court during game time. Things would get going for the Rams early on as Zion Hunter opened the scoring on a lay-up. Mo Kamara and Devontaey Woulard would snag a couple of early steals, giving Mason Sword the opportunity to put away a 3-pointer from the corner. Jst a few minutes later, Devontaey Woulard would drive into the paint for a lay-up before Aahmod Scarbough bagged an assist on a lay-up by Mo Kamara. Mobile found themselves down by 7 points at this stage of the half, with the opportunities appearing for the Rams to close in on the opposition before the break. At the 5:19 mark, Zion Hunter would drop in a 2-point jumper while, just one possession later, Devontaey Woulard dropped in a 3-pointer, cutting the lead down to 8 points for Loyola. Closing out the first half, Mo Kamara found himself with a slam dunk as the Rams trailed by 10 to Loyola.
In the second half, Loyola would extend their advantage over the Rams to 14 points, but with a lay-up and a 3-pointer by Kareem Harris, the lead would be brought back down to just 9 points. At the 12:02 mark, Kristiyan Vasilev would record his first points of the game, and just 2 minutes later, he would cash another lay-up, followed by a jumper from Mason Sword. Kristiyan Vasilev and Devontaey Woulard would end the scoring for the Rams with a lay-up and 2 free throws. The Rams would fall with a final score of 64-83.
Mason Sword had 9 points and a steal. Devontaey Woulard had 16 points and a steal. Dayton Richardson had 10 points and went 8-8 on free throws. Kristyan Vasilev had 7 points and recorded 6 rebounds.
Game Two - Mobile 72, William Carey 94
Coming off the back of a tough loss to the Wolf Pack, the Rams looked to pick themselves up ahead of another tough home game as the Crusaders of William Carey came to town. The Crusaders entered the contest as one of the best teams in the NAIA this year, sitting at #20 in the most recent NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, as the team sported a 22-3 record heading into day.
In the first half, Dayton Richardson got the scoring started for the Rams with a lay-up. Mo Kamara would follow this up with a lay-up of his own, followed up a possession later by Dayton Richardson with another 2 points. In the game against Loyola, Kristyan Vasilev recorded solid minutes, and he got his chance early in this one. On his first touch he banked in a lay-up off the glass while, on the next possession, Devontaey Woulard splashed a 3-pointer from the wing. Out of a time out, Ahmod Scarbrough scored a lay-up while Jalen Bright got a lay-up of his own on the following possession. The Rams were down 16, which quickly turned to 13, with a 3-pointer by Ahmod Scarbrough. The lead would be cut even further to 10 with a lay-up by Kareem Harris. With 3 minutes left in the half, Mason Sword knocked down a 3-pointer of his own and with a minute left, he cashed a lay-up. Despite, the late surge, at the end of the half, the Rams trailed 43-27.
Out of the halftime break, Aahmod Scarborough knocked down a 2-point jumper with teammate Zion Hunter drilling one of his own shortly after. Mo Kamara would get a slam dunk for the second straight game, this time off an assist from Oliver Boyle. At the 11:14 mark, Zion Hunter would draw an And-1 and make the free throw to capitalize on the opportunity. Zion Hunter also would get himself a dunk off an assist from Aahmod Scarbrough. Jalen Bright would draw an And-1 and make the free throw adding to his point total. Jalen Bright, a couple of possessions later, would also make 2-point jumper. With 3 minutes left in the half, Aahmod Scarbrough got himself a one-hand slam dunk followed by yet another Mo Kamara dunk. In the final seconds of the game, Bridges Simmons scored a lay-up. At the end of regulation, the final score would read 72-94 as the Rams saw defeat for the second straight home game.
Aahmod Scabrough recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Jalen Bright scored 12 points and had 4 rebounds. Mason Sword recorded 11 points, Zion Hunter shot 4-6 from the field totaling 9 points and also recorded 6 rebounds.

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday, February 21st at the Pharr Gymnasium as they close out the regular season against the Eagles of Faulkner University. The game will be streamed live, for free, on Urban Edge Network with tip-off set for 2:00pm CT!
