PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE Ala. – The Mobile Rams Men's Basketball team played their final home and regular season game of the 2025-26 season against the Faulkner Eagles on Saturday. This game was also Senior Day for the Rams, as three seniors were honored and recognized for their contributions to the Rams Men's Basketball program. Senior guard Aahmod Scarbrough, student manager Alex Abernathy, and student manager Brady Clarke were the Rams playing and managing their last game at the Pharr. The Rams made sure to send the seniors and the home crowd out on a high note, prevailing over the Faulkner Eagles by a final score of 86-83. With this big conference win, the Rams finished the regular season with a record of 8-21, while also holding a 8-10 conference record. Mobile will head into next week's SSAC Men's Basketball Championships holding the #4 seed in the West division.
Aahmod Scarbrough started off his last home game with a bang, drilling a three pointer to begin the scoring for the Rams. It was a hard-fought scoring competition for both teams throughout the first half, and the Rams found themselves on the wrong side of it, being down as much as 7 points with just a little over 10 minutes left before halftime. Just a few minutes later, Zion Hunter knocked down a three ball to make it 26-24 in favor of the hosts. The Eagles wouldn't see a lead for the rest of the first half, thanks to Zion Hunter and Kristiyan Vasilev both going on a scoring tear. The Rams scoring efforts the last few minutes had Mobile heading into the locker rooms with a 7 point lead.
Both teams came out in the second half shooting efficiently. The Rams shot so efficiently that they built up a lead as big as 13 points. However, that lead continuously trickled down, and the Eagles gave the Rams a fight towards the end, catching up and finding themselves down by 5 with just under two minutes left to play. However, the Rams were able to fight off the strong effort by continuously sinking their free throws. Mason Sword and Aahmod Scarbrough were both key contributors at the stripe in the second half, making an combined 83% of their shots. For Rams fans, it was the climactic ending that had them holding their breath. After Scarbrough made both of his two free throws at the line, giving the Rams a three point lead, the Eagles had a chance to tie the game at 86 and send things to overtime. Luckily, it was Zion Hunter who was able to block the Eagles' three pointer and end the game for Mobile.
Mobile had a few players represented well in the box score, most notably the senior Aahmod Scarbrough, who capped off his Senior Day with 25 points. He shot 8-13 from the field (3-6 from beyond the arc), and went 6-8 at the free throw line. Scarbrough also added on 5 assists and 3 steals. Mason Sword put up a 20 point outing, going 4-7 from the field, and shooting an effective 11-12 from the charity stripe. Sword also added an additional 8 rebounds. Zion Hunter ended his regular season by putting together a double-double, having himself a 19 point game and 13 rebounds. Lastly, Kristiyan Vasilev shot for 13 points, and grabbed 6 rebounds
