PHARR GYMNASIUM | MOBILE Ala. – The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team saw their regular season come to a close on Saturday with their final game coming at home against the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Rams would take time before the game to celebrate their four graduating seniors during a pre-game ceremony in front of the home fans. Jada Johnson, Mariona Pontnou, Luisa Monsalve, and Cierra Highland all received recognition for their contributions to the program as well as their work both on and off the court throughout their college careers. Despite the best efforts of the Rams, it would not be enough as they would close out the 2026 regular season with a 55-80 loss.
The first quarter saw Emilee Duet splashed home a 3-pointer to open the scoring for the Rams. Scoring would be slow in the opening ten minutes with both sides struggling to connect on the opportunities. Luisa Monsalve and Lamaria Jones would both make both free throws on trips to the line before a jumper from Jada Johnson saw Faulkner's lead cut to just 1 point. At the end of the first quarter, Mobile trailed 12-9.
In the second quarter, it would once again be Emilee Duet who would open the scoring up for the Rams, making another 3-pointer to add to her total. Halfway through the quarter, Deja Pryor supplied an assist to Taylor Lee as she put up 3 points from downtown. A few possessions later, Mariona Pontnou would score a lay-up off an assist from Hannah Benoit. With 2:58 left to play in the quarter, Emilee Duet hit another 3-pointer as the Rams tried to close in on the Eagles' lead. At the halftime break, Mobile trailed by 9 with a score of 23-32 in favor of the Eagles.
The third quarter didn't see a lot of action on offense for the Rams, with the main talking points coming from Cierra Highland and Emilee Duet both connecting on lay-ups. In the final quarter, Hannah Benoit drove into the paint and added 2 more points to her sides total. Jada Johnson would play an assisting role on a Taylor Lee 3-pointer before putting away a 3-pointer of her own. In the final five minutes of the contest, Johnson and Lee would each make three 3-pointers to help limit the damage on the final scoreline.
At the end of the day, Emilee Duet and Jada Johnson would both have three 3-pointers to their name, while Taylor Lee would have four. Luisa Monsalve ended her day with 5 assists, 5 points, and a steal while Jada Johnson tallied 12 points alongside 6 rebounds.
