Men's Tennis Suffers Defeat in Opening Round of SSAC Championship

Rams fall to ABAC in tense match

MOBILE TENNIS CENTER | MOBILE, Ala. - The 2026 SSAC Men's Tennis Championship saw the University of Mobile Rams enter in as the #5 seed with an opening day match against the #4 seeded Stallions of ABAC. The first round match started at 10am on Friday morning at the Mobile Tennis Center with the doubles point going to the Stallions after losses at the #1 and #2 pairs for Mobile. Heading into the singles matches, Mobile needed 4 points to advance to the next day and face the #1 seeded Crusaders of William Carey. As the match went on, Mobile would take wins at the #1, #5, and #6 spots, with Luis Perez's match at the #4 spot eventually becoming the deciding point. Luis would put up a strong fight, but would fall in the third set after an injury delay. With the loss, Mobile's 2026 season comes to an end, with just one scrimmage remaining on the schedule, next Thursday at 3:00pm CT at home.

Up Next for the Rams

Mobile Men's Tennis will close out their season with a scrimmage against Coastal Alabama Community College as the Rams celebrate Senior Day. That match will start at 3:00pm CT on April 23rd at the Gerald L. Wallace Tennis Center.
