Beach Volleyball History

Overall Program Record: 73-52

2025:


Finished the 2025 campaign with a 28-9 overall record, winning the SUN Conference Regular Season title for the first time in program history with a perfect 12-0 conference record. The Rams would finish as runner-up to Webber International in the SUN Conference Championship Tournament. For the second year in a row, Mobile finished as the runner-up in the 2025 AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Tournament to Webber International. For the first time in program history, Mobile made the NAIA Women's Beach Volleyball Invitational, going 1-2 in pool play before falling in the quarterfinals to Southern Oregon University.

Aspen Adams and Layton Adams became the first Rams ever selected as NAIA Beach Volleyball First Team All-Americans, while Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield were selected as NAIA Beach Volleyball Second Team All-Americans.

Head Coach Jon Campbell was named the SUN Conference Coach of the Year. Aspen Adams and Layton Adams were named the SUN Conference Pair of the Year, with Aspen Adams being named SUN Conference Player of the Year. The three pairings of Aspen Adams and Layton Adams, Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield, and Jaci Drinnon and Rachel Dunaway were first team all-conference selections.

Thirteen members were named SUN Conference All-Academic selections.

2024:

Finished the 2024 campaign with a 12-13 overall record, falling in the semifinals of the SUN Conference Championship Tournament. Later finished as the runner-up in the 2024 AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Tournament to Webber International.

Aspen Adams and Layton Adams became the first two all-conference selections in University of Mobile Beach Volleyball history, with Aspen Adams being named to the SUN Conference First-Team All-Conference Team and Layton Adams being named a SUN Conference Second-Team All-Conference selection. 

Eight members were named SUN Conference All-Academic selections, while nine members of the 2024 team earned Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

2023:

Finished the 2023 season with a 16-14 overall record, while tallying an 8-2 SUN Conference record throughout the regular season and earning the No. 3 seed of the SUN Conference Championship Tournament. Additionally, finished 3-1 in the AVCA Small College Beach Tournament at season's end.

Following season, UM Beach Volleyball program led the NAIA Division with 13 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes during the 2022-23 academic year.

2022:

In just the second season as a sanctioned sport at the University of Mobile, the UM Beach Volleyball team joined the SUN Conference for the 2021-22 season and finished the year 15-12. Mobile found more success in the first half of the season, beginning the year with an 8-2 mark through their first 10 matches. The Rams finished in the top five of the Sun Conference standings.

Melea Meadows and Veronica Makovey were selected by the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) as top flight of the year. The pair finished with an impressive 14-4 record in their first season as a duo.

2020-21:

Led by head coach Jon Campbell in the inaugural season, the Rams finished 2-4 during the 2020-21 season, which saw their remaining five matches canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
