Rams Cruise to 11th-Straight Win Behind 9-0 Rout Over Talladega on Thursday

Binaghi Scores Four, Bynoe Three, in Mobile's Dominant Win Over the Tornadoes Thursday Afternoon

TALLADEGA, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Soccer team followed UM Women's Soccer's 9-0 win over Talladega College on Thursday, Oct. 21 with a 9-0 win of their own against the Tornadoes. Mobile's win on Thursday evening extends their current winning streak to 11 matches. The nine goals on Thursday are the most put up by the Rams on the season.

Alejo Binaghi, who has been named SSAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week three times already this year, has a great chance to earn the honor for the fourth time after his performance on Thursday. Binaghi managed to score four goals in the conference win over Talladega, including the first three goals for the Rams in the match. All of Binaghi's goals came within the first 14 minutes of the start of the match. He now leads the SSAC conference with 16 goals in 13 matches played for Mobile this year.

Joshua Bynoe also had a great day offensively, recording his second hat trick of the season with three goals in the match against Talladega. Bynoe's goals came in the 13th, 21st, and 74th minutes of the match. He recorded a hat trick back on Sept. 10 in Mobile's win against LSU-Alexandria. Like Binaghi, Bynoe also sits in the top five of goal scorers this year in the conference. He now has 11 on the year as both Binaghi and Bynoe were responsible for seven of Mobile's nine goals scored in Thursday's win.

Defender Angel Almiron managed to record his third goal of the season on Thursday in the 29th minute. Jose Reis was credited with the assist on Almiron's goal. Later in the match, Navid Intasbullu recorded his first goal as a Ram, a strike in the 66th minute.

Overall, Mobile took a total of 40 shots in the 90 minutes with over half of those shots being shots-on-goal. Talladega only took two shots in the entire match, both resulting in saves for backup goalie Ty Turner who came in after halftime for Antoine Bedos.

The Rams extend their overall record to 12-1-0 on the season following their 11th-straight win and 5-0 in conference play. Mobile currently ranks No. 5 in the latest NAIA Men's Soccer Top 25 Coaches' poll, however, in the latest MRPI (Modified Ratings Percentage Index) rankings in the NAIA, Mobile was ranked No. 2 overall.

The Rams return home on Saturday, Oct. 23 for an afternoon conference match against Blue Mountain College at 4:00 p.m. CT. Prior to the start of the match, Mobile will honor the graduating seniors leaving the team following the season for senior day festivities.
