MOBILE, Ala. - This week at the University of Mobile marks Homecoming 2022, and in addition to numerous events occurring across UM's campus like concerts, a fair, campus tours, and more, the UM Athletic Department is scheduled to see three teams in action on Saturday, Oct. 22 as part of the celebration and welcoming back of former Rams.
VB - Mobile v. Faulkner | 1:00 p.m. CT - 10/22
The UM Volleyball program will kickoff the athletic events on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. CT match against conference foe Faulkner University. Saturday afternoon's match featuring Mobile and Faulkner is the second of two regular season meetings between the two teams. The Rams fell to the Eagles in four sets back on Sept. 15 in Montgomery, Ala., but will be looking to answer back with an important win during Homecoming weekend in Pharr Gymnasium.
W SOC - Mobile v. (5) William Carey | 5:30 p.m. CT - 10/22
UM Women's Soccer will be bidding for a massive upset on Saturday during Homecoming 2022 as the Rams are set to host conference rival William Carey University. The Crusaders of William Carey enter Saturday ranked in the top five in the latest NAIA Women's Soccer Top 25 Coaches' poll and have competed in three of the last five NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship matches, winning once.
For Mobile, the Rams have surprised several opponents with the success the team has put together, sitting in the current top three of the SSAC Women's Soccer standings. Mobile will look to snap their current two-match losing streak and upset the Crusaders of William Carey at the Jungle for a 5:30 p.m. CT kickoff.
M SOC - (4) Mobile v. (12) William Carey | 7:30 p.m. CT - 10/22
In what is one of the most anticipated matches of the 2022 regular season for men's soccer, the fourth-ranked Rams of Mobile will wrap up Homecoming 2022 by hosting No. 12 William Carey at 7:30 p.m. CT. Saturday's nightcap features two of the top teams in not only the SSAC, but in the NAIA Division. Mobile defeated William Carey to claim the 2021 SSAC Regular Season Championship last season, but fell in the 2021 SSAC Men's Soccer Championship to the Crusaders a couple of weeks later.
With both teams having just one loss on the season and sitting in the top three of the current SSAC Men's Soccer standings, Saturday night's match at the Jungle on the University of Mobile campus is must-watch, and will be a top match across the NAIA.
MBB - Alumni Game | 9:30 a.m. CT - 10/22
In addition to three regular season games at UM on Saturday, the University of Mobile Men's Basketball program will welcome back former Rams for an alumni game on Saturday morning, Oct. 22. Tip-off for Saturday morning's alumni game is set for 9:30 a.m. CT, and those interested can sign up here: https://form.123formbuilder.com/6225760/form.
