Mobile Keeps Things Close; Dalton State Too Strong
In Mobile's second conference game of the season, the Rams battled the always talented Roadrunners of Dalton State College in Dalton, Ga. The first half remained close, with both teams trading the lead throughout the first 20 minutes. Mobile managed a 13-6 run to start the afternoon, but the Roadrunners surged back with under 10 minutes left in the first half. Eventually, Dalton State had a four-point advantage over Mobile at halftime, 28-24.
It was much of the same in the second half, with the exception of Mobile not seeing a lead in the final 20 minutes played. Dalton State held the lead for the entire half, but Mobile kept things close, never seeing a deficit larger than eight points in the entire half. However, Dalton State managed to keep their lead just out of reach of the Rams' grasp, winning Saturday afternoon's game by four, 59-55.
In the loss, Mobile saw two players record double-doubles. DaMariee Jones finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday afternoon's matchup, while Ezra McKenna collected 10 rebounds and scored 12 points. Following Saturday's double-double, McKenna leads Mobile with three on the season, while Jones has notched two double-doubles.
