Mobile Concludes Regular Season with 1-1 Weekend; Earns Fourth Seed in Upcoming Conference Tournament

Rams Earn No. 4 Seed in SSAC Volleyball Championship Tournament Following 1-1 Weekend

MARIETTA, Ga. - The University of Mobile Volleyball team wrapped up the 2022 regular season over the weekend, playing two conference matches on the road and finishing 1-1. The Rams faced Talladega College in Talladega, Ala. on Friday night and managed a sweep over the Tornadoes, while dropping a four-set match to Life University in Marietta, Ga. the following afternoon. Following the 1-1 weekend, Mobile finishes the 2022 regular season with a 21-10 overall record and a 11-6 conference record.

Mobile Keeps Dega in Check

Mobile began the weekend with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-22 sweep over Talladega College Friday evening in Talladega, Ala., but had to fight off the Tornadoes in the final two sets. In both sets, the Tornadoes began with the lead, but struggled to played consistently enough as Mobile eventually took the lead and the sets.

With two of head coach Jon Campbell's starters out of the lineup due to sickness, Kendel Lee Frazer and Aspen Adams were named starters for Mobile this weekend. Frazer, a sophomore outside hitter, filled in for Corrina Porch-Maxey and led the Rams with 10 kills in the victory over Talladega. For Adams, the sophomore made her return to the court on Friday after two months away with a nagging injury. Adams played the libero spot for the absent Lexi Gillette and collected a team-high 15 digs in the win. She made only two reception errors in the entire match. Adams' twin sister Layton Adams led Mobile with 13 assists on Friday.

Despite the win, head coach Jon Campbell is looking for more aggressive and consistent offense from his team as no player hit above .200 against Talladega. Following the win, Mobile traveled to Marietta, Ga. for a Saturday afternoon match against Life University.
