Mobile Wins Fourth-Straight on Friday Night in Pharr Gymnasium

Rams Extend Winning Streak to Four Following Non-Conference Victory Over Truett-McConnell

H. AUSTILL PHARR GYMNASIUM, MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team wrapped up non-conference play during the 2022-23 regular season on Friday night, Dec. 30 with a 50-44 victory over Truett-McConnell University in Pharr Gymnasium. The win extends Mobile's winning streak to four games as the Rams finish the month of December with a 4-1 record. Overall, Mobile advances their current record to 7-8 following Friday's victory.

Seven Active Players Enough for Win

In Friday evening's game, Mobile saw just seven active players listed in the official score book against the Bears. However, those seven players combined for 50 points and held the opposition to 44 points, never allowing a lead change in the game. Mobile led for the entire game, but only shot 32% from the floor in the win. Meanwhile, Truett-McConnell shot 38%, but committed 16 turnovers that turned into 16 Mobile points.

Following a 28-20 halftime lead, Mobile survived several offensive runs in the second half from the Bears, including a run in the final minutes of the game. However, costly turnovers and missed shots came back to haunt TMU as the Rams scored their fourth-straight win.

Individually, Claire Worth put together her best game of the season, leading Mobile with 14 points. Worth was two rebounds shy of a double-double, tallying eight rebounds, four of which were offensive boards. Erica Jones followed Worth with 12 points, also securing eight rebounds and being two boards shy of a double-double. Meanwhile, MacKenzie White led Mobile with nine rebounds and four assists, while adding four points. As a team, Mobile out-rebounded TMU 40-27, tallying 14 offensive rebounds and scoring 12 second change points.

Follwing the non-conference victory, the Rams are set to end the regular season with 13-straight conference games following the New Year holiday.

SSAC Play Takes Off
