MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's and Women's Soccer programs officially announced cancellations / postponements to the 2023 season opening matches scheduled for Friday, Aug. 18 against Talladega College at home. The schedule changes were made official on Wednesday evening, Aug. 16 due to opponent roster and travel issues across both teams.
For women's soccer, Mobile Head Coach Brian Person announced that the Talladega v. Mobile match has been postponed two weeks, now taking place on Friday, Sept. 1 at 4:00 p.m. CT at home. The men's soccer match will remain canceled and will not be made up.
UM Women's Soccer is now set to host Millsaps College next Tuesday, Aug. 22 for the 2023 season opener, scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. CT kickoff. Millsaps and Mobile met in Jackson, Miss. last year with the Rams coming away with a 4-0 shutout win over the Majors.
For UM Men's Soccer, the Rams, who begin the year ranked No. 2 in the 2023 NAIA Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, will face No. 9 Keiser University to begin the 2023 campaign next week. The 2023 season opener against the Seahawks is scheduled for next Thursday, Aug. 24 at 5:30 p.m. CT at home.
