NAIA Officially Announces 2022-23 Scholar-Teams on National Awards Day

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its honorees in addition to just over 2,200 NAIA Scholar Teams as a part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day on Friday, Sept. 15. The day recognizes the association's highest individual honors and achievements of NAIA student-athletes, administrators and coaches. Additionally, the association announced the nine-member class of the 2022-23 NAIA Hall of Fame.

The University of Mobile Athletic Department was heavily involved in this year's awards day within the NAIA, with every competing team from the 2022-23 season receiving scholar-team recognition for meeting the required GPA in the classroom throughout the academic year. The University of Mobile led the entire Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) with 20 teams recognized as NAIA Scholar-Teams.

In addition to scholar-team honors, Ezra McKenna of the University of Mobile Men's Basketball program earned the NAIA's Emil S.
