Mobile continues to sit atop the current SSAC Men's Soccer standings with a 7-1-0 SSAC record after Thursday's win, with the overall record improving to 13-2-1 on the campaign.
Cazares Continues to Score
An incredible shot from the reigning NAIA and SSAC Offensive Player of the Week Emilio Cazares was the difference in the Rams' 1-0 win over Faulkner on Thursday night, with the transfer forward collecting his team-high 16th goal of the year in the 18th minute. Cazares' goal came following fantastic dribbles past several Faulkner defenders, eventually finishing with a strike past the Eagles' goalkeeper. He is coming off two hat tricks alone in three matches played last week.
Faulkner finished with seven shots in the losing effort as Mobile goalie Ty Turner recorded four saves on the night. Turner's best save came via a one-on-one opportunity in the 70th minute where he saved a Faulkner shot with his chest. The clean sheet performance is Turner's seventh this season. Meanwhile, Mobile managed 15 shots in the win, finishing with seven on target.
